"Holy Girl Walking" for Lent
Updated: Feb 14, 2024
This year, I’m doing something a little different for Lent.
Ever since I stopped going to my old Catholic Church, I stopped participating in Lenten traditions. This year, however, I’d like to change that by dedicating more time to God through a trend I’ve seen on TikTok: “Holy Girl Walks”.
“Holy Girl Walking”, also known as “Prayer Walking”, is where you pray, listen to worship music, or listen to a Christian podcast while moving your body. So not only are you taking care of yourself physically, but you are also taking care of yourself mentally (isn’t that a win-win)?
I did one of these Holy Girl Walks last week, and it honestly helped me get all of my thoughts out. I had a loaded tea from Geaux Nutrition at the Nicholls Rec in my hand and worship music in my ears.

Every day during Lent, I plan to do one of these “Holy Girl Walks”. Here’s how I plan to do it:
Walk for at least 30 minutes to an hour outside (unless it is raining, then walk inside)
Only listen to Christian worship music or a Christian podcast for the entire time
Pray during the walk by just talking to God casually
I’m slowly starting to build a worship playlist, and I’m still looking for a good Christian podcast. I’m currently listening to Christ with Coffee on Ice, but I am open to any suggestions!
Will you choose to be active in your faith this Lenten season both physically and spiritually by joining me in a Holy Girl Walk?
